Because of an internet search found on a computer used by her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, tom Hall, the late country music singer and songwriter, has been mentioned in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial.
But Patrick Clancy has said he was the person looking up Hall’s music and that he accidentally followed a link about the singer’s death. Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Kyle Pavao testified that the computer was used to search for Hall, one of his songs and information about his death by suicide. The search later reached a page about suicide methods.
How events unfolded
Because investigators found a search for Tom Hall on a computer used in the Clancy home, his name came up in court.
The browsing history included a search for one of Hall’s songs and then information about his death, according to Massachusetts State Police testimony. The trail eventually reached a page about suicide methods, followed by another page about jumping from the Grafton Bridge in New Zealand .
Background and Possible Cause
Because of the searches found on the computer, his name appears only. That digital trail is now part of the evidence being discussed in the Lindsay Clancy trial. It does not mean Tom Hall had any relationship with Clancy or her family.

On August 13, Massachusetts State Police Sgt. CBS News Boston reported that the defense raised this explanation while questioning Patrick about the searches.
That link took him to information about suicide methods, he said. He said someone had searched for Tom Hall, one of his songs and his death by suicide. He also testified that the browsing trail reached a “suicide methods” page and then a page about jumping from the Grafton Bridge.
Patrick also testified that he clicked on Hall’s Wikipedia page and then accidentally followed a link about the singer’s death. Kyle Pavao testified about the computer evidence.
