Manjrekar said it is a mystery how the IPL generation has managed to transition from T20s to Test cricket, calling it an impressive feat. Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar has admitted that he has been stumped by modern-day batters’ ability to adapt to red-ball cricket.
His remark came amid the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, with the likes of Devdutt Padikkal and Manav Suthar delivering standout performances during India’s win in the Galle Test earlier this week.
Padikkal was India’s standout performer with the bat in Galle, as he amassed 211 runs across the two innings, including a century. His match figures of 4-76 and 6-55 helped him outshine a star-studded spin attack featuring Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav .
