Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former India cricketer suggested that Kohli’s vocal presence and aggressive approach could have prevented the Indian side from becoming passive.
Kaif Critiques Team’s Energy in Test Match
Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif expressed concerns about the team’s energy levels during a recent Test match. He highlighted the demanding nature of Test cricket, stating, “Playing Tests isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It’s a very long game and you have to keep bowling continuously.”
Kaif noted that the team seemed to take their performance for granted, suggesting a lack of urgency. He remarked, “At times, I felt we took things for granted, thinking, ‘Just keep bowling, it will happen. The ball is turning so much, it will happen on its own.'”
He contrasted the team’s approach with that of standout players like Virat Kohli, who he believes would have been more vocal and engaged, saying, “If someone like Virat Kohli had been playing this match, he would have been constantly shouting and keeping his team switched on.”
