The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday fined Sri Lanka bowler Asitha Fernando and India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal 25 per cent of their match fees for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first day of the second Test in Colombo on Sunday.

Disciplinary Action Following Breach of ICC Code of Conduct
Two players have been found in violation of Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This article addresses inappropriate physical contact with any individual during an International Match, including players, support personnel, umpires, match referees, and spectators.
As a result of this breach, both players face disciplinary consequences. Level 1 breaches are subject to a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and can incur a maximum penalty of 50 percent of a player’s match fee, along with the potential for one or two demerit points on their records.
