Shanaka’s unbeaten 121 off just 43 balls powered Patriots to 235 for four after they were asked to bat first, before Jeremiah Louis’ maiden five-wicket haul in T20 cricket helped bowl the Kings out for 98 in 13.5 overs, according to Cricinfo. The Sri Lankan reached his century in just 39 balls, surpassing the previous record for the fastest CPL hundred, while his spectacular innings included eight fours and 12 sixes.
Shanaka’s Record-Breaking Century Powers Patriots to Highest Total
In a stunning display during the final over, bowled by Keon Gaston, Shanaka propelled the Patriots with an explosive performance, scoring 28 runs that included four sixes and a four. This effort contributed to a remarkable 93 runs scored by the Patriots in the last five overs of the match.
Shanaka’s innings featured a significant partnership with Wanindu Hasaranga, as the duo amassed 93 runs off just 31 balls. Hasaranga remained unbeaten, helping the Patriots secure the highest total of the match.
