The Indian cricket board has called for a joint stakeholders’ meeting in Mumbai on October 15 as the Indian Premier League approaches its landmark 20th season next year. The BCCI has invited all key IPL stakeholders, including franchise owners and chief executive officers, state associations that have hosted IPL matches, and broadcasters for the meeting ahead of the 2027 season.
The board intends to review the issues and lessons from previous IPL seasons while also addressing concerns raised by stakeholders during the meeting, according to a BCCI source.
Planning and discussions related to the organisation of the 2027 IPL are also on the agenda.
At the conclusion of its Annual General Meeting last month in Mumbai, the BCCI announced that its general body had unanimously decided to celebrate the completion of two decades of the IPL in a “grand way”. (Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed.) The BCCI believes that state associations play a key role in hosting the IPL and that their views on match-day coordination and venue operations are critical to the issues the board aims to address.
