Auqib Nabi recently made his ODI debut for India in their 2-1 series win over the West Indies. Nabi made his international debut in the second ODI between India and the West Indies at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. He was presented with his India cap by KL Rahul and became the third cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to play for India, after Parvez Rasool and Umran Malik . In a recent video, Auqib Nabi can be seen at a car showroom, where he sits inside a particular Hyundai model. Many social media users speculated that Nabi had purchased the car.

However, Nabi endured a stern test on a batting paradise, conceding 84 runs in 8.4 overs without taking a wicket. His selection in India’s ODI team meant he missed Jammu and Kashmir’s recent Irani Cup match, in which they lost to Rest of India by 167 runs. Widely tipped to earn a Test cap following a record-breaking 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, in which he claimed 60 wickets and helped Jammu and Kashmir win the title for the first time, Nabi was previously included in India’s Test squad for the series in Sri Lanka in August. India won the series 1-0, although Nabi did not feature in the playing XI during the tour. Auqib Nabi has also been named in Jammu and Kashmir’s 18-member squad for the senior men’s Ranji Trophy preparatory camp, scheduled to begin at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. They will next host Vidarbha in a match starting on October 18.

Secretary Vivek Khajuria announced the list of players for the camp following approval from the selection committee. He later had a brief stint with Surrey in the County Championship. Nabi’s performances will be closely watched by the selectors ahead of the selection of India’s squads for the three-match India A tour of New Zealand and the two-Test series in the country, scheduled for October-November. Nabi features alongside fellow express pacer Umran Malik, experienced batter and captain Paras Dogra , batters Abdul Samad, Shubham Khajuria and Qamran Iqbal , and left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq , among others. Jammu and Kashmir began their Ranji Trophy title defence against Madhya Pradesh. They will also play an away match against Baroda before hosting Puducherry, after which the Ranji Trophy season will take a break for white-ball tournaments.
