Thursday began on a sombre note for India as legendary actor Nana Patekar breathed his last at the age of 75. Patekar was found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula, Goa, and was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors tried to revive him for nearly 45 minutes before declaring him dead. Making his acting debut with the 1978 film Gaman, Patekar went on to establish himself as one of the most prominent actors in Hindi and Marathi cinema.
From his villainous roles in ‘Parinda’ and ‘Agni Sakshi’ to his memorable comic timing in ‘Welcome’, Patekar’s performances were always a treat for his fans.
Shikhar Dhawan said. May his soul rest in peace,” said Rahane. Nana Patekar saab, your work will continue to inspire generations. Om Shanti. Former India batter Ajinkya Rahane also paid tribute to Patekar. “Nana Patekar ji was a truly remarkable actor whose work has inspired and entertained generations. Very sad to hear about his passing.
“Indian cinema has lost a truly special talent today.
In the viral video, Patekar was heard saying, ” Virat ek aisa player hai jise main bahut chahta hu. Agar Virat jaldi out ho jata hai toh mujhe khaana khaane ki iccha nahi hoti . (Virat Kohli is my favourite. When he gets out early, I don’t like to eat food).”
