A promotional pre-release event for actor Yash’s upcoming film Toxic turned chaotic in Hyderabad after a structural setup collapsed into the audience. Held at Malla Reddy University, the high-energy gathering drew thousands of college students and fans, but the celebrations were cut short when a piece of heavy equipment fell into the crowd.

Certified ‘A’ by the CBFC, the film features a musical score by Charan Raj and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is a high-octane gangster action drama starring Yash alongside an ensemble cast featuring Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria.

Noticing the commotion and sudden shift in energy from the podium, as reported by Times of India, Yash briefly paused his address to check on the well-being of the audience. The actor inquired with event organisers regarding the condition of the affected students and resumed his speech only after receiving an initial confirmation that the situation was under control. The accident has once again brought safety protocols and crowd management at massive movie promotional drives under severe scrutiny. Prior to the stage program, local police had issued warnings requesting the dense crowd to step back to prevent potential stampedes. However, several attendees had scaled equipment rigs and moved close to the stage barricades to catch a glimpse of the actor, contributing to the structural failure.
