A 31-year-old Adobe software engineer, Vinay Gupta, allegedly died after being assaulted during a matrimonial dispute at his home in Delhi’s Nihal Vihar on Friday. Police have detained four people, including his wife and two brothers, and are questioning them to establish each person’s alleged role in the incident.
Police probe continues
His family said he earned an annual package of around ₹60 lakh.
Gupta worked as a software engineer with Adobe in Noida, according to police. Investigators are also examining the claims made by Gupta’s family, including the allegations of a planned attack, previous threats and the switching off of CCTV cameras. Further action will depend on the evidence collected during the investigation.
Family alleges earlier disputes and threats
The family also alleged that one of Rekha’s brothers had previously threatened Gupta over minor disputes. Police are investigating whether any earlier incidents are connected to the current case.

The family members reached the house and Gupta was allegedly assaulted, according to police. His wife, Rekha, allegedly called members of her parental family after the argument. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police are investigating what led to the confrontation and how the assault unfolded.
Police said the dispute between Gupta and his wife began on Friday morning at their residence in Laxmi Park.
