Arshdeep got Kiwi powerhitter Bevon Jacobs run out with a clever piece of thinking during the New Zealand innings. With Glenn Phillips and Jacobs attempting to take a quick single, Arshdeep showed off his football skills to cause the run out. Instead of picking up and throwing the ball, Arshdeep guided the ball towards the stumps with his foot.
India pacer Arshdeep Singh managed to effect a dismissal in a rare manner during the first T20I against New Zealand on Thursday.

The Kiwi pair had stitched a 73-run partnership in around five overs, with Jacobs smashing 31 off 16. Put into bat, New Zealand got off to a flying start thanks to Finn Allen (45 off 24) and Tim Seifert (24 off 17). Glenn Phillips then smashed an unbeaten 82 off only 40 balls, and was helped by cameos from Jacobs (31 off 16) and Daryl Mitchell (28 off 19) to help New Zealand post a score of 225/4 in 20 overs. In response, India received an even better start from Sanju Samson (67 off 33) and Abhishek Sharma (29 off 12). The visitors suffered several hiccups in between, losing four wickets for 29 runs. However, captain Shreyas Iyer (42 off 24) and Naman Dhir (42* off 15) helped India home.
The dismissal came in the 18th over – a vital juncture in the context of the game.
