University of North Texas Establishes New AI College with $20 Million Donation
Anuradha and Vikas Sinha have made a significant contribution of USD 20 million to the University of North Texas (UNT), earmarked for initiatives in artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. This donation aims to enhance educational and research opportunities for both students and faculty.
In recognition of this generous gift, UNT will establish the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics. This new college will serve as a center for academic and research endeavors, focusing on artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, and data analytics. It will consolidate expertise across various fields, including AI, cybersecurity, data science, advanced analytics, health informatics, information science, library science, and learning technologies.
The Sinha’s contribution underscores the pivotal role of universities in preparing future leaders in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. According to Vikas Sinha, “Artificial intelligence will be one of the defining technologies of our generation, and universities have an essential role to play in preparing the people who will shape its future.”
UNT Establishes College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics
Vikas Sinha has been appointed as the vice president of the Mainframe Software Division at Broadcom. Since 2023, he has also been a member of the UNT College of Information Leadership Board. In light of the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, UNT President Harrison Keller emphasized the critical role of universities in shaping the future of work, research, and problem-solving. He stated, “Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how we work, conduct research and solve problems, and universities have an important responsibility to help shape what comes next.” The establishment of the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics at UNT positions the university to take a leadership role in this evolving landscape.
