A Las Vegas jury has found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty in the 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur. Jurors reached the verdict in less than three hours after a weeks-long trial.
Davis Convicted for Role in Shakur’s Fatal Shooting
Jurors have determined that Davis was responsible for orchestrating the drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of rapper Tupac Shakur. Notably, prosecutors did not claim that Davis himself fired the shots that killed Shakur.
On the night of September 7, 1996, Shakur was a passenger in Suge Knight’s black BMW when a white Cadillac pulled up alongside them and opened fire. While Knight sustained injuries, he survived the attack. Tragically, Shakur succumbed to his injuries a week later at the age of 25.
During the proceedings, jurors were presented with evidence from a 2008 interrogation in which Davis implicated his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, as the individual who fired the shots that ultimately killed Shakur.
