The Pakistan men’s cricket team is scheduled to meet King Charles later this week, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace. This meeting comes in the wake of recent tensions stemming from a broadcast interview involving former captain Imran Khan’s sons. The third Test against England is set to take place shortly after this engagement, highlighting the team’s focus on maintaining harmony amid off-field challenges.
It will take place during the break between the second game, which is currently underway at Lord’s, and third Test, starting in Birmingham on September 9. It is understood King Charles could spend around 15 minutes interacting with the touring squad. The royal engagement comes shortly after tension arose during the day one of the second Test, when broadcasters Sky Sports aired an interview with Suleiman and Kasim Khan, the sons of former prime minister and 1992 Men’s ODI World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan. Khan, 73, has been in jail for the past three years on corruption charges, which he denies.
