Pilgrims Reflect on Near-Disaster Amid Floods
After narrowly escaping a devastating flood, returning pilgrims are grappling with the shocking reality of their close brush with catastrophe. The floods destroyed the hotel where many had stayed, resulting in the tragic loss of some staff members.
Prakash Shantaram Mane, a resident of Kalyan who traveled with his wife Pratibha, recounted their experience: “When we learned that the hotel, where we had eaten our breakfast a little while earlier, had been swept away along with its staff members, we were left completely numb.”
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of natural disasters and their profound impact on lives and communities.
Return of Pilgrims to Kathmandu
On August 29, the group of pilgrims, along with nine Nepali tour staff, successfully returned to Kathmandu. They subsequently boarded a Nepal Airlines flight to Mumbai on the afternoon of Sunday following their arrival.
