Posters portraying Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, as a “real-life Batman” have appeared outside the Indian National Congress headquarters in New Delhi. The posters feature Gandhi alongside the tagline – “The silent guardian, a watchful protector. LoP Rahul Gandhi, the real-life Batman.”

Earlier reporting noted: The posters, courtesy Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress chief Akshay Lakra, were put up near the entrance of Congress headquarters Indira Bhawan at Kotla Road and near the Indian Youth Congress office on Raisina Road here. Following his participation in the Jantar Mantar demonstration, Gandhi, along with Congress leaders and Sahil Lochav, who has alleged that pellet guns were used against him during the protest, staged a sit-in outside the Parliament Street Police Station on Friday.
During an “Ask Me Anything” session on Instagram, a participant asked him whether he was Batman. Gandhi responded jokingly and said, “Let’s just say that no one has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together. His remark subsequently fuelled online trends and memes among students and supporters.
The posters appear to draw on a light-hearted exchange between Gandhi and young citizens earlier this month.
