This information was revealed on Thursday, following the chaplain’s observation that Clancy’s breathing tube had been removed one week after her horrific act and a failed suicide attempt.

Lindsay Clancy, a 36-year-old labor and delivery nurse, has displayed deep emotional distress during her trial for the tragic deaths of her three children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. The incidents occurred in January 2023 at her family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. As autopsy reports were presented, Clancy was heard exclaiming, “I can’t do this!”.
Chaplain Sheila Cavanaugh, who has regularly met with Clancy since the murders, testified that Clancy often speaks about her children and expresses profound grief. “Lindsay talks frequently about her children; she loves them deeply. She carries immense grief,” Cavanaugh noted. Their meetings have continued up to just before the trial commenced at the end of July, highlighting the ongoing emotional toll on Clancy.
