On Monday, Kevin Reddington, the defense attorney for Lindsay Clancy, called his first witness, Margaret Hamp. Hamp, a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, previously worked alongside Clancy. This testimony is part of the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding Clancy’s case, which has drawn significant public attention.
The colleague mentioned that Clancy , who shared night shifts with her, would watch live videos on her phone of her children in their cribs. She reflected on a moment when one of her children was spotted crying on a baby monitor, leading Lindsay Clancy to initiate a wellness check when her husband did not pick up the phone.
Clancy is facing trial for the murder of her children, Cora , Dawson, and Callan, who were strangled to death in 2023. Additionally, she leaped from a second-floor window of the family’s residence in Duxbury, resulting in partial paralysis.

During the ongoing proceedings, Hamp revealed to the jurors that Lindsay Clancy became visibly emotional when discussing the case of Andrea Yates, who infamously drowned her five children in 2001. Clancy reportedly cried and expressed disbelief, stating, ‘How could a mother hurt her children?’ This reaction underscores the profound impact that such tragic cases can have on individuals.
Andrea Yates was initially convicted of murder in her first trial; however, this conviction was later overturned. In a subsequent trial in 2006, she was found not guilty by reason of insanity, a verdict that has continued to spark discussions about mental health and maternal responsibility.
