Australia’s Steve Smith acknowledged that his team was outperformed in every aspect of the game. This defeat marks a historic low for the Australian side, highlighting the challenges they faced throughout the match.

The defeat marked only Australia’s second Test loss to Bangladesh, with their previous defeat coming in Dhaka in 2017. It also handed Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the two-match series and ensured they cannot lose the series.
“We needed probably 200 at least plus to be in the game there,” he said. Smith felt Australia needed a substantially bigger lead to remain competitive in the Test.
