Mr. Parameswaran, born on January 18, 1935, in Thrissur district, made significant contributions to the field of nuclear engineering. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, in 1956, followed by a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the Moscow Power Institute in 1965. His professional journey included a notable tenure as a scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai, where he worked from 1957 until 1975. In February 2004, Mr. Parameswaran faced expulsion from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] due to serious charges of indiscipline, stemming from a perceived deviation from the party line.
