Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called on citizens to throw themselves into the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, asking that the initiative be turned into a celebration in every home in the run-up to Independence Day.
The campaign, now in its fifth year
The official campaign website notes that 2026 is the fifth edition of the initiative. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ was first rolled out in 2022 as part of the government’s Independence Day programming and has run every year since, urging citizens to bring the Tricolour home. This year it carries a special theme the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’ coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the national song.
